HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Hi, I’m Nirja. Like so many of you, my days run from long hours at work to managing a home to late dinners with the people who make it all worthwhile. When I moved back to India after 8 years in the US, I looked everywhere for body and personal care that could keep up. Everything I tried felt greasy, sticky, cumbersome, or uninspiring.
Conversations with friends and eventually with 500+ women across WhatsApp communities confirmed it wasn’t just me. Everyone could name a favorite serum or a go-to lipstick, but almost no one had a body or personal care product they truly loved — one built for our Indian skin, our climate, and our fast-paced lifestyles. That’s why I created Laani.

One of beauty’s most overused and under-defined words, “clean” means something different to everyone. At Laani, we don’t use it at all. We choose transparency instead. Every product page will tell you exactly what’s inside, why it’s there, and how it works.
